The Department of Dentistry at Montefiore Medical Center offers the ADA accredited residency programs listed below:
The Department of Dentistry at Montefiore includes 100 dental chairs in 10 facilities located in the Bronx. In 2013, the Department had over 168,000 patient visits. You will have an opportunity to work in a variety of settings with a diverse group of highly qualified faculty members. Our faculty members are world renowned and most are board certified. But they are also active practitioners; they treat patients with the residents each and every day. You will treat patients from every corner of the world and have a chance to see a wide range of dental and medical problems.
The Department is a leader in the use of cutting edge technology and has invested heavily in renovation of all facilities. You will learn to take digital radiographs, to work with digital patient records and a fully electronic appointment and billing system. You will work in a brand new, state of the art dental lab.
Residencies at Montefiore are hospital based programs. That means that in addition to working in the dental clinics, you will have opportunities for total immersion into the life of a hospital -- managing patients whose oral health is part of their total health. You will have an opportunity to see how your dental care relates to that of other colleagues in dentistry, medicine and other allied health fields.

About Montefiore Medical Center
Founded in 1884, Montefiore is one of the largest healthcare systems in the U.S. It is located in the northern section of the Bronx, 30 minutes from Times Square by train. Each year, Montefiore Medical Center, the University Hospital for the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, trains more than 1,000 residents in a range of medical and dental specialties. Montefiore ranks among the top one percent of all U.S. hospitals for investments in medical innovation and cutting edge technology. Over the past decade, Montefiore has invested more than $125 million in information systems, making us a national leader in developing innovative applications of technology to medicine. It is one of the very few hospitals in the country to be 100-percent computerized for ordering prescription drugs and tests, and for reporting the results.
Montefiore has long recognized that diversity creates strength and promotes greater understanding of patients and their needs. It was the first to invite women to join the staff (1914) and to welcome African-American residents (1930). Today Montefiore is proud to have staff—and patients—from every corner of the world.
The Emergency Department at Montefiore Medical Center is one of the top five busiest in the United States, the most-visited in the state of New York, serving approximately 80,000 patients annually.
The Children's Hospital at Montefiore (CHAM) has been ranked one of the top children's hospitals in the nation by the prestigious U.S. News & World Report 2008 edition of America's Best Children's Hospitals. CHAM was ranked 28th out of 143 hospitals nationwide in its first year of eligibility. The Pediatric Emergency Department (PED) at the Children's Hospital at Montefiore is one of the busiest emergency departments in the tri-state area, treating approximately 60,000 children and adolescents annually.
