Pediatric Dentistry Residency
The residency in Pediatric Dentistry is a hospital-based program that offers an unusually broad exposure to all relevant components of Pediatric Dentistry. In addition to extensive management of primary care patients, residents actively participate in the care of the developmentally disabled and medically compromised. Montefiore Medical Center boasts an outstanding Craniofacial Center from which residents derive patients and attend multi-disciplinary team conferences. The Pediatric Dental residents receive extensive exposure to all aspects of pediatric dental care, including: prevention and anticipatory guidance, minor and major dental trauma, sedation techniques, interceptive orthodontics, oral pathology and dental rehabilitation in the operating room setting. The primary emphasis through all of these activities is to integrate clinical experience with didactic knowledge.
